The journey has begun! After a year of being up-in-the-air about when this project would be finished, we are on our way to China to finish filming for “Daughter of Miracles.” It is a miracle–a series of miracles, small and large, that have led us to this point.
My journey began this morning at 6:15 a.m. That was when the airport shuttle arrived at my doorstep. I had been hoping the driver would arrive at 6:30, the later time mentioned when I reserved my spot. The driver was a VERY punctual Englishman. A native of England, he moved with his family from England ten years ago, to join other family members who were already living in the U.S. Interestingly, he worked for the Kodak company in quality assurance for over 20 years, before immigrating.
The van was filled to capacity with five passengers–three young people who had just spent a week at Especially for Youth. One of them was a young man with the last name of Wu, who is from northern California. He’s never been to China, but his family is from mainland China. The other two were young women, from southern California. The fourth passenger was a BYU graduate student from Spain, on his way to present a scientific paper in Vermont. He hoped to meet up with his advisor and a fellow student at the airport.
The fifth passenger was me–feeling very happy to be beginning this final leg of the production journey for this project.
